About CPD Health Courses

Trigger Point Dry Needling is the skill that will transform you as a therapist, your clinic, your patient list & your patient’s lives. Learning how to safely & confidently use Trigger Point Dry Needling to help your patients will change how you treat your patients.
  • It will increase the types of conditions that you will be able to treat.
  • It will create new treatment opportunities and interventions that you never thought possible.
  • Instead of you referring patients to other therapists, they’ll be staying with you and other therapists will be referring patients to you.
  • By learning any new skill you’ll grow in confidence as a therapist.

By completing Dry Needling training with CPD Health Courses you’ll not only learn how to use Trigger Point Dry Needling but you'll be able to treat more conditions and you’ll have more options for treating the same things that you treat now. You'll have more tools in the toolbox.

Your patients will be fascinated, impressed, proud & incredibly receptive when they realize & then appreciate why you wanted to learn this new skill. Ultimately of course the aim of learning anything new to use in your practice is to help people, which is why we’re all in the professions we’re in.
So, why should you learn Trigger Point Dry Needling now?
Well, that’s a great question. But the reasons why you shouldn’t wait to start learning Dry Needling therapy are as compelling as that question is a great one. You see, over the last 10 years more & more therapists have become interested in learning Dry Needling. The number of Dry Needling Therapists is increasing every week. Such is the popularity of this treatment technique that many practices are insisting on their therapists learning how to do Dry Needling before they join their clinics.
  • Sports teams are now asking for Dry Needling as a key skill to have available for their players.
  • Newly graduated therapists are getting qualified in Dry Needling therapy to maximize their job opportunities.
  • Patients are now calling clinics and asking the question… Do you do Dry Needling?
By delaying your Dry Needling training, you’re missing out on potential revenue and life long patients who are looking for someone to help them. Every day that you wait for the right time to start is another day lost in opportunity.
Like many things I’ve learned in my professional life, my patients were the ones who first introduced me to Dry Needling.  I actually came to love Dry Needling through completing a Masters Degree in Acupuncture. Completing an Acupuncture degree really helped me understand much more about the background to needling and the differences between these two very unique disciplines.
Above all, the real gift of completing a highly intensive post grad course in Acupuncture was the early start I made in honing my needling & handling skills. The needling skills I learned complemented the manual dexterity skills I had developed over the past 31 years of treating patients.
I guess I got a head start as an early adopter, you see many Dry Needling educators learn how to teach Dry Needling by attending a course just like the ones I run almost every weekend around Australia. By becoming an Acupuncturist first, I got a bit of a jump on anyone else.
I started using Dry Needling to great effect, patients would actually say I ONLY want you to do that needling stuff, can you do that new technique you used on me last week, this is the only thing that works for me….do you do Dry Needling ?. And so it went on. I got so many referrals from other therapists who didn’t have the skills.
So, how did I become a Dry Needling teacher? As an Osteopath & Acupuncturist, just like you I have to complete mandatory CPD hours in order to stay registered.
Like you I attended lots of post grad CPD courses, taping, exercise rehab, manual technique workshops & lectures by other health professionals. I couldn’t help but think what if I could teach something I loved, like Dry Needling but in a way that was focused on the people who attended the course rather than the presenter? Rather than making it all about the presenter, what would appeal most to people just like me who had an interest but didn’t want to spend hours sitting to boring PowerPoint lectures in uncomfortable chairs. What a waste of time & money.
That’s when the penny dropped. I started to look into how I could develop a Dry Needling course that allowed a busy practitioner to complete all their theory when & where they wanted before attending the only thing that the couldn’t do at home, the practical part.
That’s when I started writing the CPD Health Courses Dry Needling training program, so that I could present the theory as online modules & then ask therapists to attend the practical at a location around Australia.
Since 2013, we’ve taught over 3500 Remedial Massage Therapists in 8 capital city locations around Australia. We are now the largest provider of Dry Needling courses in Australia. We present over 46 courses every year in exactly the same format, online theory plus face-to-face practical.
I've spoken to many of the therapists who've attended our Dry Needling courses and asked them why they wanted to study Dry Needling, what brought them to our courses?
This is what they usually say...
I'm not sure how long my joints and muscles can take the load that soft-tissue work places on them
  • Everyone's talking about Dry Needling, how easy it is use and the great results they're getting. I feel I'm missing out (FOMO):)
  • I feel that there must be more to my work than just treating where it hurts. I want to know what causes that muscle pain, the science behind myofascial pain and how to confidently explain this to my patients.
  • I feel that there’s so much competition out there from other Manual Therapists. I’ve worked hard to get where I am today but now I'm looking for something to make me stand out above the rest.
  • At the clinic I work at everyone uses Dry Needling, it makes it difficult when they want to refer or someone's away for patients to be referred to me.
  • I want to treat more than just tight shoulders and backs. I want to be able to increase the number of conditions & areas of the body that I didn’t even know were in my scope of practice, conditions like TMJ pain, knee osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, & rotator cuff tendinopathy.
  • I want to be recognised for all the study I've completed, the hard work I've put in to build my reputation and the money I've invested to get to where I am now.
If you’d like to find a solution to all of these problems then you need to join our Dry Needling Course today. If you don’t do anything, you’ll be exactly where you are today in 6 months, 12 months, a year or more. You really can’t afford to miss the boat, become the early adopter I was, in your profession and in your area and start your Dry Needling training today.
Here’s a list of benefits that other Manual Therapists who’ve completed our Dry Needling course have seen:
You’re less tired at the end of each work day
Your patients say that they’re not as sore after your treatments
You’ve increased your treatment fees because of demand
You’ve created a uniqueness about what you do in comparison to other local therapists
You’ve wiped out the competition by learning a new skill
You command more trust, more respect & more authority among your patients and your colleagues
Ok, so you're ready to start your Dry Needling Training but why should you choose CPD Health Courses?
The short answer: We offer Online Theory that you can complete in your own time, at your own pace, wherever you want; all you need is a computer and an internet connection. Once you complete the theory prepare for the fun of attending just the Practical Course at a location in near you. Then, you're done!

I wanted to ensure that when a health practitioner attended any of our courses, their experience would be the best they’ve ever had.

I wanted to ensure that your experience would be worth talking about. In order to do this, I thought about all the courses I’d ever attended and all the lecturers & presenters I’d ever listened to.

The Problem

As a business owner of 27 years, running a busy practice treating patients & managing staff, I understand how precious your time is. We all need time to complete CPD in order to stay current but we also want time to spend with our friends & family.

I soon realised that the problem with many conventional teaching methods used today is that they don’t fit in with our busy lifestyles.

After a full week of treating patients, I didn’t really want to sit in a stuffy lecture room on my ‘weekend off’, listening to endless power point presentations.

Learning can be serious, dull & boring!

I realised that others probably felt the same way as me; tired & a bit overwhelmed after listening to hours of theoretical information, trying to remember it all…only to start another busy week of patients again on Monday morning.

The Solution

Online theory plus practical courses

With this in mind I thought; “Why not create theory courses that could be studied online in a relaxed environment at home, reducing precious time away and saving money on flights & accommodation?”

So I extracted the best information from all of the courses I’ve attended; added my own style, insights, knowledge & experience to create online theory programs plus practical courses.

These courses have been developed using state of the art technology to ensure meeting your CPD requirements is an enjoyable experience.

Online Courses

A theory presentation shouldn’t be like the nasty greens you have to eat before you get to the ice cream!

At CPD Health Courses you’ll enjoy a gourmet meal every time you take one of our courses.

We’ve used the latest technology to bring you state of the art online programs with fast and easy user interaction on your laptop or PC.

Once enrolled, you’ll simply click to start your program & listen to the presentation. Alternatively you can download the course manual & read the notes. You can choose when you want to study & where you want to study.

You can complete the theory at a pace that suits you, not your course presenter.

That’s the beauty of online eLearning. You can start & stop your program whenever YOU want, completing your study at home or at work. All you need is a computer & an internet connection.

And just because the theory is online, doesn’t mean you can’t ask questions.

Our support service encourages you to ask as many questions as you like; whether you’re studying online at home, during your practical course or at anytime after your course.

"I found the course taught by Wayne to be extremely helpful to my clinical skills set.

It was taught in a way that was highly relevant and clinically focused- these were it's biggest advantages over other similar courses as well as the key fact that it was a smaller group setting, which meant a lot of hands on practical time.

All questions I had were answered at the time of asking and it's clear that Wayne knows the information he is teaching very well."

Blended Courses (theory online followed by a practical course)

With a blended course involving online theory & practical skills, practitioners can join a practical course after completing the theory at home in their own time, at their own convenience; feeling refreshed & eager to start learning new practical skills that they can use the next day.

The atmosphere in our practical courses is relaxed, easy going, fun & friendly.

We want you to feel that you’d much rather be at our practical course than at the beach or playing golf. We never want you to feel that you wish you were somewhere else!

You’ll get to practice, practice, practice on our PRACTICAL courses.

I really hope you can join us at one of our courses and enjoy a new way of learning.

We look forwards to seeing you soon.
